Job Purpose: Provide process engineering support for daily operations and lead continuous improvements teams for specific product lines or processes.
Essential Functions: 1. Maintains safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.
2. Optimizes manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes.
3. Works with customers to resolve technical/quality issues and provide special products.
4. Participates in multi-functional teams (industrial staff, R&D, Marketing) to resolve problems and develop new products. Leads where appropriate.
5. Starts-up new products and equipment (supervises installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents and transfers to Production).
6. Supervises engineering assistants and industrial staff as needed.
Requirements:
Required Qualificiations: BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering plus 3 years process engineering experience. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and contribute in a team environment. Self starter with strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Familiarity with MS Office and other applications. Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in technical or manufacturing role Demonstrated potential for growth and ability to meet competencies for additional technical roles Demonstrated ability to problem solve and contribute in a team environment using PDCA, Shainin Red X , Lean Sigma, KT-PSDM or similar methodologies. Knowledge and application of Product Development or Quality Systems Project management experience
