Sleep Technician Respiratory Therapist
Our Ohio Health Sleep Services is hiring for SEVERAL Full Time, Per Diem and Pediatric Experience.
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Sleep Technologist contributes to the Health Inventures vision and mission by providing direct patient care independently and safely operating sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake stages, respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements and other clinical events of patient care. Participates in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
Requirements:
Provides for the assessment and evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of diagnostic testing based on patients age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs. Is responsible for communication to the physician of pertinent patient data.
Initiates and monitors overnight testing procedures in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Communicates a professional attitude with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel. Practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality.
Assists coordinator with quality assurance programs for the department and makes recommendations as needed.
Operates in full compliance with organizations’s safety program. Responds to all emergency preparedness situations as appropriate. Utilizes standard precaution and assures unit’s equipment is ready for safe operation.
Performs duties in documented accordance with requirement of all regulating/governing bodies.
Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs. Fulfills yearly education requirements as stated by policy.
May participate in on call rotation for staffing and or support needs of system sleep labs.
Participates in clinical/didactic education of Respiratory Therapy / Sleep Technology students.
Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department
Demonstrates work practices consistent with Health Inventures and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies.
Authorized to make entries in the medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure.
Education:
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy
Must have a current Respiratory Care License or a Current Respiratory Care
Practitioner Permit in the state you provide services
Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required OR
Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologists with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (only in an American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited Sleep Center)
